Paul is 9 years old and lives with his grandmother and 3 sisters in a poor farming village in Uganda. Both his father and mother have abandoned him and his siblings. Regardless, Paul is inquisitive and fun-loving. He loves to play football and draw. Paul enrolled in his 3rd year of school but doesn’t have the money to pay for school fees so that he can go regularly.

Paul’s grandmother, the sole supporter of the family, is a subsistence farmer, producing only enough for the family to eat and just a little to sell. Because of her age, the grandmother is having difficulty to continue farming or caring for the children. As a result, Paul may not be able to go to school at all without a sponsorship.
