Jackline is 12 years old and lives with her grandmother and 3 siblings in a poor farming village in Uganda. She is playful and artistic and loves to draw and play with friends. Jackline is currently enrolled in primary 3 and loves learning social studies. Unfortunately, because her mother and father left, Jackline’s grandmother struggles to support her family or pay the children’s school fees. Her grandmother is a subsistence farmer, producing only enough for the family to eat and just a little to sell. As a result, Jackline may not be able to continue her education without a sponsorship.
